THE GREAT GARBAGE PATCH - A POEM
Plastic wrappers, ropes and, lids,
Plastic bags and toys for kids
Plastic straws and forks and knives,
All long to live quite different lives.
They dream of tangling birds and whales
Of tying up a dolphin’s tail!
Or, when broken into bits like peas
Ending up as fishes’ teas.
Plastics want to join the band
Of plastic stuff from every land
That’s rolled in currents far from shore,
Where they can live for ever more.
So don't let plastic things get free
Or they will end up in the sea
And kill sea creatures very dead,
Recycle all that stuff instead. or rather better I think Do without that stuff instead
